politics aside, we are all human

在一瞬间,什么都没有了...

12.05.08
Earthquake - 四川.
Thousands dead, many more still left uncovered. Out of this disaster comes stories of heroism, of bravery, but much more.. of sadness and loss. The initial shock shook and broke the foundations of the buildings. The aftershock to the ones left alive, hit much closer, to the heart. The harsh shock of realisation, that someone close, someone so familiar to your daily life.. will no longer be there. All the hopes and aspirations, the hard hours and effort put into raising a child, gone.. in an instant. For China, a country which strictly imposes the one-child policy, one can hardly imagine the loss felt by these parents. They placed their life into their child, raised them to one day leave their side, for a better life, one that they could never possibly reach. But now, their child has left their side already, not yet matured, gone from the world, and will never be there to watch the next dawning of the sun.

International aid is working overtime, with agencies still trying to penetrate Burma, and now sending aid to China. Millions of dollars has been donated, in the form of rescue teams, aid such as food, clothes and sheltering. However, no amount of international aid, no amount of money can heal the heart of a person who's lost a loved one. No words cannot express the raw emotion of parents anxiously waiting outside what is left of a school, hoping desperately for word of their child. The shattering news when finally, the child has been found, but the parents will never be able to hear their voice again, see them smile. The only small comfort is that the body was found, as opposed to the thousands of parents who wait their turn, yet to determine the fate of their child...

Let those who have perished rest in peace, and live on in the memories of their loved ones. To those who have survived, have hope, find comfort in those around you, stay strong and never, never give up.

Until Further Notice...

With many attempts to revive this page, i've decided to give up on this xanga.. for a while at least. This is due to lack of motivation, too many useless and uninteresting thoughts.. plus, need to sort EVERYTHING out 1st...

in short, bbl!
